Working against backups, Browns rookie QB Shedeur Sanders made some plays Saturday
The Cleveland Browns entered their fourth day of training camp practice, and second with fans in attendance, on Saturday. Beating what is expected to be strong heat (again) with the potential for rain and thunderstorms, the Browns got good news with WR Cedric Tillman back at practice after a scare on Friday.
The focus continues to be on the quarterback position with Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel getting the most opportunities so far in camp. Ever popular, Shedeur Sanders has spent most of his time with the third stringers during the first week of Cleveland’s training camp.
HC Kevin Stefanski has noted that things could change after the first week of practice and not to read too much into who is getting snaps with what units. Sanders continues to say the right things about his opportunities.
Saturday, he also had a perfectly placed touchdown throw to local undrafted WR Luke Floriea on a crossing pattern:
The level of competition is always important to note during these kinds of highlights, but Sanders continued to make plays in the redzone later with back-to-back touchdowns:
Highlights are a small part of the process right now, but it will be interesting to see if Sanders gets more opportunities with the first and second string as Browns training camp rolls along in Berea.
Do these types of plays/highlights mean anything to you? Are they vital or just a QB taking advantage of players that will be cut in the near future?
