New Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders would not be drawn into discussing his dad’s health while speaking to reporters after practice on Tuesday.
Shedeur, selected as a fifth-round pick by Cleveland following a shocking NFL Draft slide earlier this year, has impressed in training and is giving himself every chance to play a significant role for his new team.
The former Colorado star might not feel all that great, given that his dad has had to leave Boulder amid his team’s camp due to unspecified health issues, per reports. The Buffaloes head coach is not in the best of health at the moment, although his eldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., recently claimed that he was feeling well and resting up as of Sunday.
Primetime has also been somewhat active on social media over the last two days.
With Shedeur facing the media on Tuesday, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com tried sneaking in a question regarding Deion’s health, but the Browns QB expertly swatted it away, pointing out that he was there on team business and not to talk about his father.
“I don’t know what’s going on,” he said. “I’m here not to talk about Pops and them, I’m here as the quarterback of the Cleveland Browns.”

Deion Sanders is at his Texas residence at the moment. He was scheduled to be a keynote speaker at an event in Florida over the weekend, but could not make it, with former NBA star Earvin “Magic” Johnson slotting in as a replacement.
Sanders Jr. did suggest that his father would disclose whatever he’s dealing with on his own time.
