Shannon Sharpe Is Officially Done At ESPN, According To Former Host

56-year-old Shannon Sharpe was accused of sexual assault in a $50 million lawsuit by a woman he used to date.

All may have been quiet about the lawsuit, but it has not gone.

The 22-year-old woman, who filed as “Jane Doe,” has since been identified as OnlyFans model Gabriella “Gabbi” Zuniga.

Zuniga accuses Shannon Sharpe of being “manipulating and controlling” and even “repeatedly threatening to brutally choke and violently slap” her. After the news broke, Sharpe’s lawyer condemned the lawsuit, claiming his client and accuser had a “consensual” relationship that ended in January 2025.

In the midst of his lawsuit, Sharpe said he would step away from ESPN.

Sharpe’s statement at the time stated that he was “electing to step aside temporarily from my ESPN duties.

“I will be devoting this time to my family and responding and dealing with these false and disruptive allegations set against me,” the statement reads. “I plan to return to ESPN at the start of the NFL preseason.”

Now, a former ESPN employee is singing a different tune.

Former ESPN Employee Dan Le Batard Is Convinced Shannon Sharpe Is Done

After being accused of sexual assault and battery and engaging in the intentional infliction of emotional distress in a civil lawsuit, Shannon Sharpe temporarily stepped aside from his position at ESPN until the start of NFL preseason later this summer.

Sharpe has strongly denied the allegations, saying “the relationship in question was 100% consensual.”

Dan Le Batard speculated Tuesday that the Sharpe era at ESPN is all but over.

“I guess we probably all know at this point that Shannon Sharpe is not likely to ever work at ESPN again, right?” Le Batard, a former ESPN host, said on “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz.”

“I think we can assume, I think we can reasonably assume that Shannon Sharpe would like it to look like he has a chance to return, but I don’t know that you can be Disney and allow any of what happened there.”

Sharpe joined ESPN’s “First Take” in 2023 after his departure from FS1’s “Undisputed” with Skip Bayless earlier in the year.

Stephen A. Smith made it clear last month that he is “hopeful” for Sharpe’s return as the NFL season approaches.

Sharpe still hosts his “Club Shay Shay” podcast and “Nightcap” with Chad Ochocinco.
