The Seattle Seahawks’ veterans had a grand time pulling the leg of rookie safety Nick Emmanwori during the team’s 2025 rookie dinner.

NFL teams have an annual tradition where the rookies take their teammates out to dinner. The rookies end up paying the bill, and it’s never cheap when you consider that it’s a large party at a fancy restaurant.

Knowing he was going to pay a very hefty bill, the Seahawks’ veterans decided to pull a little prank on Nick Emmanwori. And they pulled it off with some help from the restaurant staff members.

In the video below, Emmanwori is handed a restaurant bill that reads $114,566.35. You can hear his stunned and hysterical reaction after receiving the bill in the video below:

Luckily for Nick Emmanwori, it was nothing more than a humorous prank from his teammates. The actual bill was “only” $22,524.85.

Detroit Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown and his veteran teammates pranked rookies Isaac Tesla and Dominic Lovett, too. The pair thought they were picking up a $41,000 tab at the rookie dinner, but it was only about $4,000.

Nick Emmanwori Played A Significant Role In Seahawks’ 2025 Success

Seattle was one of the top surprises of the 2025 regular season, finishing with a tremendous 14-3 record to win the NFC West. The key reason was a defense that allowed a league-low 17.2 points per game, per Pro Football Reference.

Superstar cornerback Devon Witherspoon and the prolific pass rushing tandem of Byron Murphy and Leonard Williams get much of the credit. But Nick Emmanwori was also imperative to their success, recording an interception, 11 pass breakups and 2.5 sacks.

The Seahawks earned the NFC’s No. 1 seed and first-round bye. They are now just two home wins away from reaching the Super Bowl. The last three times they had the No. 1 seed, Seattle won the NFC Championship (2005, 2013 and 2014).
