Donald’s comeback buzz isn’t just fan speculation anymore; it’s something the Rams are keeping a close eye on. According to X user Sarah Barshop, coach McVay revealed that the future Hall of Famer is going through a “very strict” evaluation process before deciding whether he wants to suit up again.
“But if that is something that he wants to do, we are going to try to be able to make that happen,” McVay said, before adding, “But I genuinely do not have an answer on whether he is or isn’t.”
The possibility of Donald returning has quickly become one of the NFL’s biggest offseason storylines. What once felt like a long-shot reunion suddenly looks a lot more realistic after the Rams landed superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett. The chance to line up alongside another generational talent reportedly sparked Donald’s interest in making one more run, prompting the 35-year-old to begin an intense training program to see if he still has enough left in the tank. The biggest hurdle now may be figuring out the contract details if he decides to unretire.
Donald called it a career after the 2023 season, ending a legendary 10-year run spent entirely with the Rams organization in St. Louis and Los Angeles.
