It appears Stefon Diggs and Mack Hollins were able to get some shots in against their former team before things went sideways for the New England Patriots.
The Patriots choked away a 21-0 lead Sunday to the Buffalo Bills, squandering a chance to win the division with a 35-31 loss to Josh Allen and Co.
For Diggs and Hollins, it represented a second revenge game of sorts this season against a team they both had stints with. And when the Patriots were ahead, The Boston Globe’s Ben Volin spotted the two receivers barking at the Bills and firing up the crowd, to the point of being held back by a coach.
Some Bills players later confirmed they could hear it, and head coach Sean McDermott weighed in, as well.
“No, I didn’t (hear it). This game isn’t about any one player or two players in this case,” McDermott said after the game, via a team-provided transcript. “Those guys are great players. Really, it’s about a team game. That’s what it’s about. Our team finished the game today the way we needed to finish and got a win. So we move on.”
Diggs’ run with the Bills was far more memorable than Hollins’, lasting from 2020 through the 2023 season. Hollins spent 2024 with the Bills before joining the Patriots in the offseason, like Diggs.
