The Seattle Seahawks have won nine of their 10 road games under Mike Macdonald, something only accomplished by a select few championship-winning coaches. This is going to be one of the tougher road matchups to date, as the Jacksonville Jaguars are on a hot streak and are one of the surprise stories of the NFL. After their dramatic win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night, the Jags are 4-1 while the Seahawks are 3-2 after last week’s home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
For Seattle to assure itself of a winning record entering the Week 8 bye, it needs to win one of its next two games. The Houston Texans game in Week 7 may be “easier” on paper but nothing seems to be easy at home. Under Mike Macdonald, Seattle is usually less sloppy, less turnover prone, and just seems more relaxed on the road.
Injuries to the defense may really put the onus on the Seahawks offense to be as clean as possible, because this Jaguars defense is opportunistic and leads the league in takeaways.
