The Seattle Seahawks won the NFC West and the 1-seed by beating the San Francisco 49ers in their last game. Now in order to advance to their NFC Championship Game in 11 years, they must beat them against.

Seattle’s first loss of the season came versus the 49ers on opening day. It would be devastating if Mike Macdonald’s first playoff game as Seahawks head coach has the same losing outcome as Pete Carroll’s final Seahawks playoff game.

The Seahawks are justifiably favored. They’re the better, healthier team and should’ve won by more than 10 points two weeks ago. And yet, it’s still a division game, and Kyle Shanahan’s teams do not fold meekly in the playoffs. Blow leads? Yes. Play non-competitive football? That’s not a thing.

Maybe Seattle can change that.
