A former tight end of the Pittsburgh Steelers could soon be on the move.
The Seattle Seahawks worked out former Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Nick Vannett, according to Aaron Wilson of Houston’s KPRC2.
Vannett, 33, joined the Steelers via a trade midway through the 2019 season. The team sent a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft to Seattle in exchange for Vannett.
However, he did not have much of an impact in Pittsburgh, recording just 13 catches for 128 yards and zero touchdowns in 13 games.
Vannett began his NFL career as a third-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Ohio State, where he had 91 catches for 877 yards and six touchdowns over five seasons.
He spent the first three years of his career with the Seahawks before being dealt to the Steelers. During that span, he racked up 48 catches for 463 yards and four touchdowns.
Following his one-year stint in Pittsburgh, Vannett joined the Denver Broncos for the 2020 season. He continued to disappoint in Denver, though, recording just 14 catches for 95 yards and one touchdown in 15 games.
He then signed with the New Orleans Saints in 2021 and for half of the 2022 season until he was released on Nov. 19. Vannett joined the New York Giants shortly after and finished the season with the G-Men.
Vannett then spent the 2023 season with the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers, but he caught just one pass for three yards in eight games (five starts) with the Chargers.
He bounced back in 2024 with the Tennessee Titans, catching 17 passes for 135 yards and three touchdowns, tying his career-best mark. Vannett then signed with the Vikings ahead of the 2025 season.
Unfortunately, Vannett failed to record a statistic and was eventually signed off the Vikings pratice squad by the Los Angeles Rams, who he finished the season with.
A native of Westerville, Ohio, Vannett has recorded 108 receptions for 1,012 yards and nine touchdowns in his professional career.
