Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seahawks fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Hey there! We’ve got another edition of Seahawks Reacts coming your way. After a slight dip in confidence last week, we want to know how you feel about the direction of the Seahawks franchise following last Sunday’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The most recent result was 90 percent, so I imagine we’re staying in the 90s, but just how high will that climb be?
The next question is the score prediction for Monday’s game against the Houston Texans, which may or may not partially overlap with Game 7 of the ALCS between the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays, but the Mariners seem hellbent on making sure this series doesn’t even return to Toronto for a Game 6. This is Seattle’s first prime time home game of the season, and it’s another chance to fulfill the promise of being better at Lumen Field than we’ve seen in years past. They’ve stumbled out of the gates at home with a 1-2 record, and the 2-3 Texans do boast the No. 1 scoring defense. How close of a game will it be, and who will prevail?
Lastly, our question of the week pertains to the playoffs. As of Week 6, the Seahawks sit as the No. 5 seed via an unfavorable head-to-head tiebreaker with the No. 2 seed San Francisco 49ers. Seattle is only a game back of the No. 1 seed, which belongs to the 5-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who’ve got their own tiebreaker on the ‘Hawks. And yet, the Seahawks are only a half-game above the cutoff point for wild card teams, with several potentially huge games to come against the Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams, and Washington Commanders.
The Seahawks are top of the charts in FTN’s DVOA, and historically 4-2 teams ranked in the top five in offense, defense, and special teams end up in the Super Bowl. Just putting that out there for your information!
Do you think the Seahawks will reach the playoffs? If so, will they be the top seed, a division champion (but not the top seed), a top wild card, a regular ol’ wild card (6 or 7 seed), or somehow no playoffs at all? Vote in the survey below!
