The Seattle Seahawks are set to host the New Orleans Saints in Week 3, with a rash of early season injuries leaving the team with four members of the roster listed as doubtful ahead of the matchup Sunday.

The injuries have hit the secondary particularly hard, where safeties Julian Love and Nick Emmanwori, along with cornerback Devon Witherspoon, are all expected to miss the game, in addition to running back Zach Charbonnet.

With only two practice squad elevations allowed per week under the collective bargaining agreement, the team on Friday released receiver Cody White, who had just been promoted from the practice squad on Wednesday. As a vested veteran, White was not subject to waivers, but because he was on the 53-man roster after 4pm on Tuesday, he will be paid a full game check for Sunday, as well as receive credit for being on full pay status for the week, which is important for pay and retirement status.

As for addressing the actual holes in the roster created by the rash of injuries, on Saturday afternoon the team elevated running back Jacardia Wright and defensive back D’Anthony Bell, while signing safety Jerrick Reed to the active roster.

Wright will likely fill a depth role, seeing limited, if any, offensive snaps, while Bell and Reed seem almost guaranteed to fill key spots on special teams.
