The NFL’s Black Monday is just around the corner, which can only mean one thing: Seattle Seahawks’ coordinator speculation is back.

The Seahawks aren’t in danger of losing anyone on the defensive side of the ball, but the team’s offensive coordinator, Klint Kubiak, is expected to draw interest for a head coaching job, according to a report from The Athletic’s Dianna Russini. In Kubiak’s first year leading the Seahawks offense, they’ve boasted the No. 2 scoring offense en route to a 13-3 record and a shot at the NFC’s No. 1 seed.

If the Seahawks secure the No. 1 seed against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Kubiak will be eligible to begin interviewing with teams on Jan. 7. Should Seattle find themselves in the Wild Card round, teams would need to wait an additional week, either Jan. 13 or 14, to interview Kubiak for their head coaching opening.

There are currently only two openings for head coaching jobs with the New York Giants and the Tennessee Titans. It’s expected the Las Vegas Raiders won’t return former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll; however, there might be some anti-Seattle sentiment in Vegas, judging by how the 2025 season went.

In her report, Russini did not name which specific teams had an interest in Kubiak, so let the speculation begin.
