Pete Carroll has extensive ties to Matt Capurro, dating back to when they were both at USC.
With Pete Carroll back on the NFL sidelines, it’s expected that many former and even current Seahawks personnel will populate his Las Vegas Raiders staff and the front office.
At the front office level, you can start the counter. After 15 seasons with the Seahawks, front office executive Matt Capurro is reuniting with Carroll in Vegas.
You might not be familiar with the name Matt Capurro, but he’s been with the Seahawks for the entirety of the Pete Carroll era and the lone season under Mike Macdonald.
From the team’s bio:
Capurro works directly with Head Coach Mike Macdonald and is responsible for coordinating the team’s day-to-day operations, including overseeing player and staff communications and managing the year-round football schedule, which includes the offseason program, OTA days, mini-camps and training camp.

In 2009 with the Trojans, as director of football operations, he worked directly with Pete Carroll and coordinated all of the football team’s day-to-day operations, managed the year-round football calendar, planned all travel logistics for home and away games, directed USC football camps and clinics, and served as liaison for the football department within the athletic department.
We’re still in early days but Carroll has opted to retain a few coaches from Antonio Pierce’s staff. Patrick Graham remains the defensive coordinator despite an interview with current Seahawks secondary coach Karl Scott, Tom McMahon will still be the Vegas special teams coordinator, and Rob Leonard is set to keep his job as defensive line coach.
Former Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell has interviewed for the Raiders’ OC job but nothing is official as far as hiring him, while former Seahawks linebackers coach John Glenn (most recently with the Washington Commanders) was just added to the staff as the new Raiders LBs coach.
