The entire NFC West lost except the San Francisco 49ers, which is bad news. If there’s something that you love to see from an otherwise disappointing Seattle Seahawks weekend, it’s Tyler Lockett pulling off a remarkable play that helped give the Tennessee Titans a stunning comeback win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Down 21-3, the Titans rallied for a remarkable 22-21 victory to get their first W of the Cam Ward era, and Lockett played a major part in bizarre fashion. Dadrion Taylor-Demerson picked off Ward, which should’ve shut the comeback off. But in an homage to last week, Taylor-Demerson fumbled the interception back to the Titans. He was not touched and did not give himself up when the ball came loose, bobbled around, got kicked into the end zone, and recovered by the Seahawks legend for his first Titans touchdown.
Lockett had just one catch for six yards and only has seven catches for 52 yards and no receiving touchdowns through five games in Nashville. He’s obviously in the twilight of his career and this could be his farewell season, and you know who’s probably sick of the sight of Lockett? The Arizona Cardinals, who were witness to Lockett’s 15-catch, 200-yard, 3-touchdown game in that 2020 overtime classic. Lockett has scored eight of his 65 career regular season TDs in Glendale, and he’s now scored more touchdowns against Arizona (10) than any other team he’s faced.
Arizona is now 2-3 and the season is rapidly slipping away. We thank Tyler for his services and the heads-up play. Hopefully such a thing doesn’t happen when the Seahawks play the Titans in November!
