We’re less than a month away from the start of the Seattle Seahawks’ 2025 regular season, and we’re starting to see broadcast assignments trickle out for the first few weeks. Seattle’s game announcers have already been announced (through media releases for commentators themselves) for the whole of September, so let’s go through them!
The Week 1 home opener versus the San Francisco 49ers will be shown on FOX at 1:05 pm PT. Play-by-play man Joe Davis will be joined by one-time Seahawk Greg Olsen on the call, with Pam Oliver as the sideline reporter. Davis and Olsen are FOX’s No. 2 pairing behind Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady. I understand Seahawks fans who don’t care for Olsen after his short stay in Seattle and, uh, some things he’s said about the team, but I find him to be one of the most refreshingly insightful analysts in the game. The fact that we have someone who has an above-average grasp of analytics and modern NFL strategy but can explain it eloquently to the average viewer should be seen as a plus.
Joe Davis is best known for his Major League Baseball work for FOX and the Los Angeles Dodgers, but he ain’t bad on football, either.
Seattle’s Week 2 road trip to play the Pittsburgh Steelers will be called by the FOX pairing of Adam Amin and Mark Sanchez, who were seemingly traveling with the Seahawks every other week through the back-end of last season. Two of Seattle’s pick-6s came with Amin on the call, including this historic one by Leonard Williams.
Seattle returns home for a Week 3 showdown against the New Orleans Saints on CBS. Not exactly a blockbuster matchup, thus no top-tier broadcast crew. The trio of Andrew Catalon, Charles Davis (who will transition to college football full-time next season), and Jason McCourty have been given the Lumen Field assignment. Catalon and McCourty were in Seattle last year for uh, well, I’m sorry I have to do this to jog your memory…
On paper, the Seahawks will likely be huge favorites against a Saints team projected to be one of the league’s worst. We know that always goes well for Seattle.
Lastly, Week 4 is Thursday Night Football against the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale. Prime Video will have the broadcast rights and Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit (with Kaylee Hartung on the sidelines) are back together again. I can neither confirm nor deny whether one of Kirk’s dogs will get a headset put on him. Any word yet on how tall and how heavy Riq Woolen is now?
For good measure, the Seahawks’ Week 7 game on Monday night against the Houston Texans will be called by Chris Fowler, Louis Riddick, and Dan Orlovsky. They’re ESPN’s secondary team when there is a Monday doubleheader.
And now that I’m done here, this is the part of where you say in the comments section that you either watch on mute or sync up your TV and radio so that you...
