The entire league will be going after the Seattle Seahawks as they try to wrestle away the Vince Lombardi Trophy from the defending champions. Fortunately for the Seahawks, they know a thing or two about stopping opponents.

Last season, the Seahawks allowed the fewest points at 17.2 per game. They intend to maintain that in the upcoming campaign, banking on their aggressiveness, athleticism, and speed.

Linebacker Ernest Jones IV will continue his role as one of the anchors. He feels the Seahawks’ defense has become more intuitive, as reported by the Tacoma News Tribune’s Gregg Bell.

“I think just the overall day-to-day, seeing improvements out of guys, whether by position or scheme-wise, you could tell this team is getting better,” said Jones.

Coming off the victory in the Super Bowl over the New England Patriots, the 26-year-old enforcer stressed that they cannot get lost in the glory, especially since they will have a big target on their backs.

“It does not really matter. I’m not saying we’re not going to try to win, but last year’s not gonna help us. We gotta go out and do it again, do what we did and establish ourselves early, and keep that going,” added Jones, who also won a ring with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022.

Ernest Jones says he senses the #Seahawks’ top-ranked defense has returned more intuitive for 2026.

Jones had a productive campaign last season, tallying career-highs of seven passes defended and five interceptions. He logged 126 total tackles and his first touchdown. He earned his first nod to the All-Pro Second Team.

He will try to keep it up and spearhead Seattle’s defense, along with defensive tackle Leonard Williams, cornerback Devon Witherspoon, and safety Nick Emmanwori, among others.

The Seahawks will open their title defense with a rematch against the Patriots.
