Field Gulls Field Gulls

A familiar face is back with the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks are widely considered to be one of the better teams in the NFL this season, and roster depth has no doubt played a role in their ascension. Consider the fact that eight players at key positions have hit the IR in the past several weeks. Not to mention a slew of avifauna that hit that same list earlier this season. As well, several warriors from our squad are either questionable or doubtful for this Sunday’s tilt against the Minnesota Vikings back home in Seattle. Specifically, Minnesota-born safety Ty Okada, who’s been having himself a very solid 2025 campaign, is potentially set to hit the IR and just like that, once again, the ‘Hawks need help.

Enter Quandre Diggs. In an amusing turn-of-events, Former Seahawk legend, now current Seahawk legend, is heading for the practice squad. His release from the Tennessee Titans was prompted ironically by their signing of former Seahawk Jerrick Reed II to the active roster. Diggs then asked for his release so as to find playing time elsewhere. Though signed mainly as reinforcement and leadership, Quandre can still play. He can also still tweet. The report of his signing was confirmed, not by pundits or luminaires. But, by Ariya Diggs herself. Truly, another cheeky post amongst a slew of cheeky posts from the mind of Nino.

Diggs was acquired by the Seahawks in 2019 from the Detroit Lions, making three Pro Bowls over five seasons iN Seattle. His 18 interceptions is 11th all-time in Seahawks history.

Quandre’s role will be to supplement a defense that is highly ranked, and, despite a handful of missed assignments and maybe some bad tackling, is levels better than previous incarnations Diggs struggled to fortify. Quandre will be asked to do some, and not all, of the excelling in centerfield.

Plus, it’s always nice to have the homies back home, especially during the holidays.

Go, ‘Hawks!
