It’s training camp, and for fans that means dreams of success in the upcoming season, with hopes that some of the unknown names on the roster turn out to be diamonds in the rough.

Barely a year ago the Seattle Seahawks signed undrafted free agent Jalen Sundell on the eve of training camp, and now Sundell is not just battling for a roster spot, he’s holding down the first string center role with Olu Oluwatimi nursing a back issue.

This year, with linebacker Tyrice Knight out a couple of weeks while he recovers from a knee injury and deals with an unnamed medical issue, the Seahawks have added a Seattle area native to the roster ahead of their second preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday.

In order to make room on the roster for former Washington Huskies linebacker Alphonzo Tuputala the Seahawks waived former UTSA and University of Oregon cornerback Kam Alexander.
