NFL fans can officially exhale. Scott Hanson just confirmed he’s coming back to host NFL RedZone for the 17th straight season. After months of moving speculation about his contract status, Hanson broke the silence himself on Friday.

“100 days from now = NFL RedZone,” he wrote on X. “& for those wondering: Yes, I will be there. We have A LOT of Touchdowns to watch together!” That one post ended the suspense and reassured millions of viewers who consider Hanson a Sunday staple.

Busy Year For The Voice Of NFL Sundays

Scott Hanson signed a long-term contract extension with NFL Network, securing his return as RedZone host for the 2025 season. After nearly a year of negotiations, concerns about his departure have ended. In addition to re-signing, Hanson will join NBCUniversal’s Gold Zone broadcast for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina. He will also lend his voice to the upcoming Madden NFL 26 video game, reaching a new generation of football fans.

“They reached out to my reps, I believe,” Hanson told *On3’*s Brian Jones earlier this offseason. “People have told me, I’m not saying this, but people have told me I’m the soundtrack for their Sundays.” He added, “It seemed to be a natural fit to take the greatest football video game of all time and me being the voice of people’s NFL Sundays… and put it together.”

At 53, Hanson shows no signs of slowing down. His energy and pace remain unmatched, and RedZone’s loyal audience keeps growing. NFL Network continues to build the product around his personality and presence.

Fans can start marking their calendars. NFL RedZone returns Sunday, September 7, for Week 1 of the 2025 season. The schedule already includes heavyweight matchups like the Texans at the Rams and a key NFC North clash between the Packers and Lions. Jayden Daniels will also lead Washington against a revamped Giants team.

For now, Hanson is locked in and ready to deliver another season of wall-to-wall touchdowns. RedZone wouldn’t be the same without him, and now it doesn’t have to be.
