Hey Steelers Fans. Welcome to Tuesday.

The Kickoff

D.K. Metcalf is back and his return couldn’t come at a better time. Actually, he tried to return on Sunday night to celebrate with the team following their win over Baltimore but the traffic was so bad that by the time he got there, everyone had left. With his two-game suspension over, Metcalf is back but he’s not saying much. The beat writers have a duty to ask him about the altercation in Detroit that led to his suspension but they also know he isn’t going to say much of anything. With the legal process still ongoing, the less he says is better. More importantly, he’s back on the field. The Houston defense will be one of the better the Steelers have faced in 2025 and his presence is going to be significant. This isn’t to say him playing means a sure victory. It means that the team’s chances of winning are definitely better. It’s good to have him back, period.

Kicking the Can Down the Road?

Last night I was pondering the idea that what Mike Tomlin and the Steelers have really done by winning the AFC North is just “kick the can down the road.” What that ultimately means is that if the Steelers don’t win on Monday night, will anything have been better than the years prior?

Something to “Make your day”

Considering Cam…

At this point in his career, the only thing Cam Heyward hasn’t done is win a Super Bowl. I honestly thought by this time of year I’d be writing about his pending retirement. Now? I’m not so sure. Heyward will turn 37 in March. He’s coming off a year that saw his numbers decline from his all-pro campaign in 2024, yet his play in recent weeks has been outstanding. He also led all interior defensive linemen in snaps this year across the League which is pretty remarkable. What I’m saying is this; I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back next year. I’m not saying he will be but if he’s still enjoying the grind then why not?
