Hey Steelers Fans. Welcome to Tuesday.
In all my years of watching the Pittsburgh Steelers I’m quite certain I’ve never seen them play a perfect game. So therefore, I’ll never understand why fans get upset when there is constructive criticism even after a win. It’s as if you can’t make any negative comments simply because the team won. If there can be praise in defeat then there can criticism in victory. Fans on social media seem to think this is an “either or” type of thing. I’ve never seen it that way and I never will. I can say Payton Wilson was outstanding and at the same time I can ridicule the offense for running for just 38 yards. I’ll never understand why this isn’t allowed for some fans.
A week after they had him for a workout it looks like Marquez Valdes-Scantling will sign with the team this week. He’ll be added to the Practice Squad first while getting up to speed on the offense.
I’m not sure any of us will really understand how or why Beanie Bishop, Jr fell out of favor in Pittsburgh. The former West Virginia Mountaineer was released by the Steelers yesterday. In his rookie campaign in 2024, Bishop had four interceptions and seemed to have played pretty well. But there just always felt like something was off especially when it came to understanding the defense.
Steelers’ QB Aaron Rodgers didn’t seem overly thrilled in his post game press conference Sunday. Despite defeating one of the better teams in the NFL, Rodgers was instead more concerned about the struggles of the offense. Personally, I liked this a lot.
The Baltimore Ravens have already made a move to acquire pass rushing help and now the ball drops into the court of Omar Khan. There is no rule stating that because his closest rival made a trade that he has to, but there will be increased pressure to do just that. Three years into the job now I still feel like we really don’t have a firm grasp on Khan so what he does by 4pmET today could help clarify that.
I expect a very busy trade day and I won’t be a bit surprised to see some big names moved. Dallas and San Francisco will be the most active in my opinion… I do not understand for the life of me why anyone pays any attention to Stephen A. Smith. He’s today’s version of a snake oil salesman… Why are NBA fans chanting “MVP” at players? Isn’t their season like 10 days old?… OK, slow day around here. That’s all I got!
