Hey Steelers Fans. Welcome to Christmas Eve!

The Kickoff

T.J. Watt practiced today. Although he was a ‘limited participant’ the fact that he was back in action is a real positive. Just over two weeks since surgery to repair his partially collapsed lung, Watt’s presence was a welcome sight. As to the question of when he will return, that’s still up in the air. I’m going to make the assumption that he won’t play this week and depending on the stakes for the home finale, he may not play until the postseason. I don’t have any inside information on this, it’s simply speculation.

Lamar Jackson

A beat writer that covers the Ravens had some pretty interesting comments regarding the team’s quarterback. “There are team rules and then there are rules for Jackson” states the article. It also goes on to claim the team practices in the heat of the day because that’s what Lamar wants. There are even allegations similar to those levied against Kyler Murray about video games. As many of you know, when things aren’t going well for a team, things like this come out. I’m not saying everything is true, I’m simply making the point that this is often what comes to light.

The Latest Podcast

It was fitting that last night was Festivus as we moved the SCB Steelers Podcast presented by DEK Roofing Inc for obvious reasons, it was also fitting because we air plenty of grievances. We had a great show as always. Check it out!

Today’s Practice Report

That Lions’ Fan

By now, you know the guy who was “assaulted” by D.K. Metcalf is a guy named Ryan Kennedy. He announced earlier today that he will be holding a press conference with his attorneys on Friday. He wants to “address the assault, correct misinformation that has been publicly repeated as fact and discuss the serious consequences Mr. Kennedy has faced.” I have stated and written several times since Sunday that Metcalf was 100% in the wrong for approaching this guy. He’s been suspended for two games and I’m guessing he regrets his decision. Mr. Kennedy is not without blame. You don’t scream at a guy and then celebrate when he “assaults” you by raising your arms and yelling “that was the goal!!!” It is my hope that any judge with some common sense will toss this case.

The Christmas Slate

The Christmas Day slate of games is about as ugly as it could be. Denver is playing what amounts to a junior varsity team in Kansas City. The Vikings and Lions are both pretty much playing out the string as are Dallas and Washington. I’m curious to see how the ratings shake out up against the NBA games. The old saying is that people would rather watch a bad NFL game than any NBA game so we will find out…
