Seahawks fans also believe Elijah Arroyo could play a part in helping the Seahawks to a strong start to the 2025 season.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Each week we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seattle Seahawks fans and fans across the country.
We are under a week away from the start of Seattle Seahawks training camp, and with that comes a lot of discussion around the rookies. Every summer introduces a new set of first-year players from the latest draft class, each of them eager to make their mark and earn a roster spot during training camp.
Among them is tight end Elijah Arroyo, who was selected by the Seahawks with the No. 50 overall pick out of the University of Miami (FL). Arroyo just agreed to terms on a rookie contract, ensuring that every member of Seattle’s 2025 draft class has been signed prior to the start of camp.
According to the results of the latest Reacts survey, Arroyo has been a popular pick to excel at the tight end position. While not by much, 36% say that Arroyo will lead all Seahawks tight ends in receptions, beating out Noah Fant and A. J. Barner, both of whom had at least 30 receptions for Seattle last season.
Arroyo had a breakout performance for Miami in 2024, recording 35 receptions for 590 yards and seven touchdowns over 13 games. This includes an appearance in the 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl, during which Arroyo had four receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown in a 42-41 loss to Iowa State.
Arroyo led all Hurricanes tight ends in receptions last year, finishing fifth on the team overall. The 22-year-old will look to build on this success at the NFL level, aiming to live up to the hype as one of the Seahawks’ top receiving tight ends.
It will be important for rookies like Arroyo to make an impact, especially as Seattle looks to gain some early ground in the division.
Slightly over half of the survey respondents predicted that the Seahawks will win three of their first four games of the season, with 94% saying that they will go at least 2-2 to open the year.
Seattle’s September slate will consist of two home games at Lumen Field and two road games, with the Seahawks alternating between playing at home and going on the road for the entire month.
Seattle begins 2025 with a home game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1, followed by a trip to the Steel City to face DK Metcalf and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2. The Seahawks return home to host Klint Kubiak’s former team in the New Orleans Saints for Week 3, rounding out the month in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium.
The first month will prove to be a good test for head coach Mike Macdonald as he looks to start his second season on the right foot. September...
