Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Each week we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seattle Seahawks fans and fans across the country.
The Seattle Seahawks opened the 2025 NFL season by dropping a key divisional matchup against the hated San Francisco 49ers, and Week 2 has the team on a long weekend trip to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
When the teams take to the field, the Seahawks will be facing off against long time rival Aaron Rodgers, and for the first time in his NFL career DK Metcalf will take the field against Seattle rather than for the team. That, of course, sets up the potential for a big revenge game, and fans expect Metcalf to make some noise, or at least to put some points on the board for the Steelers.
Regardless of how Metcalf does perform, fans are almost evenly split on the expected outcome of the game, with 52 percent of fans expecting a victory and 48 percent of those polled anticipating the Seahawks will fall to 0-2.
Should the Seahawks drop to 0-2 with a loss, it’s almost certain that fan confidence would take yet another big hit, just as it did following Week 1. Heading into the season opener 96% of fans were confident in the direction of the team, but that number has plummeted 35 percentage points over the past week, with the Week 2 poll coming in at 61%.
That drop in fan confidence is similar to the time the Seahawks used one simple trick to destroy fan confidence during the 2023 season, but winning cures everything, so if Mike Macdonald and company can right the ship against Mike Tomlin’s crew, many of the shortcomings from Week 1 will be forgiven and forgotten.
And now we’re on to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
