Just 13 days before the NFL Draft and 3 days before the New Orleans Saints players were due to report for voluntary workouts, news came out that quarterback Derek Carr is dealing with a shoulder injury that may or may not need surgery and could affect his ability for the upcoming season. The timing of this bomb dropped is very interesting since the team’s season has been over since January 5th and they just restructured Carr’s contract in early March. There have since been reports of Carr being unhappy and wanting out a trade out of New Orleans and now comes the news of an injury that no one yet knows of how or when it occurred.

Nonetheless, it definitely puts a wrench in Saints plans and their draft board could look very different than it did a month ago. Do they now turn to Spencer Rattler at quarterback, look to sign a veteran who is available in free agency, or turn all their attention to next week’s draft and try to get one of the top prospects in Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders or Jaxson Dart?

As always, we want to hear from you. vote in this week’s reacts poll and let us know should the Saints take a quarterback at No. 9?
