How is everyone feeling before the big game?

We hope this is not the last one of these this year. The Texans have reached their high water mark. They have gotten into the division round of the playoffs numerous times in their franchise history. They’ve never gotten beyond that point. Today we will find out if history is going to be made or if the same old same old will happen again.

I have to admit that I’m not as confident as my fellow fans in this outcome. I personally think it will be a one score game, but I don’t see the Texans coming out on top. I just don’t think they have enough on the offensive end to get this thing done. Of course, that has been a common theme this year and brings to mind the question coming into the offseason. Does this organization need to go in a different direction offensively?

I was personally surprised that this many fans were satisfied with him this season. My personal view is that they need to go in a different direction regardless of the outcome. Yes, they need to improve the line and yes they need another wide receiver, but the facts are the facts. This team will not have a ton of cap room and the defense has clearly taken a step forward and the offense hasn’t. That dovetails into the type of game we can expect this afternoon.

I would bet the under in this game and bet pretty heavily. I just don’t think either offense is going to score a ton of points in the cold weather and both defenses have been among the best in the AFC this season. If the Texans have any prayer of winning the game they will beed to hold the Chiefs to 20 or fewer points. I just don’t think they will score that many points without a defensive touchdown.

This was perhaps the most complicated question in the poll. Have the Texans met expectations. The view from 100,000 feet is always different than the close up view. For one, they have reached the same place they did last season. This is in spite of the fact that the Chiefs, Ravens, and Bills are all arguably better football teams than they were a season ago. So, the Texans could have gotten considerably better and still wound up in the exact same place they are now.

On the other hand, you can’t help but feel the team left two or three victories on the field this season. They certainly should have won the Lions game and the first Titans game. You could argue that they should have beaten the Jets as well. If this team had been 12-5 they likely would have played a team that is still better than them. It’s just the nature of the business. We can focus on the negative, but a lot of good performances have come this season and it is time for the big...
