SB Nation Reacts Results: Should the Saints consider a change at quarterback?
Canal Street Chronicles Canal Street Chronicles

It’s Week 8 and the New Orleans Saints (1-6) are back home in the dome to take on their first divisional opponent this season with the 5-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Last week, we saw the Saints fall on the road to the Chicago Bears in what was QB Spencer Rattler’s worst game in New Orleans as he was sacked 4 times, threw 3 interceptions and lost one fumble, dropping to a 1-13 record as the Saints starting quarterback. This has led many fans to start to question how QB Tyler Shough, the Saints 2025 2nd round draft pick, would have been performing at this point.

So, in this week’s reacts poll, we asked our readers if they thought it was time for the Saints to make a change at quarterback and how confident they are that the Saints are headed in the right direction?

62% of voters said they would like to see Shough starting for the Saints with just 38 % saying they still feel confident in the team.

When asked about his quarterback room, Saints head coach Kellen Moore was noncommittal on making any immediate changes but definitely left the door open for a switch. Moore said, “That’s week-to-week. We’ll see as we go. We’re focused on getting better right now… Spencer obviously had a game where some turnovers occurred; we get to respond.”

Rattler will get the chance to redeem himself at home this Sunday in the Superdome against the Buccaneers. Will he overcome the adversity that’s been knocking at the door or push it wide open for Shough to walk through?
