Once again, we’re a bit late with the results of our SB Nation Reacts poll for this week and once again, you have my apologies for that. But better late than never, I reckon, so let’s get to those results here now.
We asked you, the readers of the best Minnesota Vikings fan site on the internet, how many receiving yards star wide receiver Justin Jefferson would have this season after a rough 2025 season. Not surprisingly, it seems that a lot of you are expecting a solid bounce-back year from #18.
In a close race, the top spot in our poll for this week went to those who feel that Justin Jefferson is going to find his way to somewhere between 1,400 and 1,599 yards this coming season. That’s how 34% of our respondents voted in our poll. Just behind them, at 33%, was the group who think that Jefferson will get somewhere between 1,200 and 1,399 yards. There were 19% of you who believe that Jefferson will really explode and will go over the 1,600-yard mark once again, while 9% feel that he’ll be somewhere between 1,000 and 1,199 yards. And the other 4% of our respondents are apparently Bears, Lions, or Packers fans.
Honestly, what other explanation is there?
If Jefferson does have the kind of season the results of this poll project, he could wind up making team history. He’s going into this season needing 1,520 yards to become the second player in team history to amass 10,000 receiving yards in a Vikings uniform, joining Cris Carter in that category. He’s got a long way to go to catch Carter for the franchise lead in that category. . .Carter had 12,383 receiving yards as a member of the Vikings while Jefferson currently has 8,480.
Even if Jefferson “only” goes over the 1,000-yard mark again, he’ll pass Randy Moss for the second-most receiving yards in franchise history. Moss had 9,316 yards in his two tours of duty with the Vikings. . .yes, the second one counts, even though we’ve largely tried to forget about it. Moss needed 113 games in a Vikings uniform to get that many yards, while Jefferson is just 836 yards behind him in only 94 games.
