Behind the Steel Curtain
Live from Delaware, it’s Saturday Night! I, NAS204PSU, am here at BTSC to bring you this Saturday Night Open Thread (aka SNOT).
Our Steelers got a much needed win vs the Ravens last week, putting us in pole position in the AFCN.The Steelers offense had a nice showing this past Sunday, including Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf having good games. That was all overshadowed by questionable officiating calls surrounding what is a catch.
Two more wins might be enough to seal the AFCN deal, and Miami has shown to be a flawed team. It’s not a must win mathematically, but it sure would be nice to fillet the fish. This 6 pack of questions is here to get the conversation going, so let us know what you’re eating/drinking!
1: Do you think Aaron Rodgers caught his own deflected pass or was it really an INT?
2: Did Isaiah Likely actually make a TD catch that was wrongly taken away (Jesse James caught that ball!) or do you agree officials overturning it was technically correct (the best kind of correct)?
3: Follow-up: Did the overturn of the Likely TD hand the game to Steelers in your opinion or would we have cranked the offense back up for Boz to kick a game winner?
4: DK went 7 of 12 for 148 yards vs. the Ravens. How many of these games do you need to see to think he’ll live up to the 5-year, $150-million contract?
5: Our MNF game against Miami will pit Mike Tomlin’s winning home-MNF streak of 20 wins vs. the sans-Watt record of 1-10. How much stock (0-100%) do you put in these types of stats when predicting game outcomes?
6: Old man (Philip) Rivers is back in the NFL and gearing up to potentially start Sunday for the Indy Colts. If AR went down with a season ending injury, what do you think Big Ben would do with this Steelers team?
BONUS: Song Of The Night dedicated to the many RE-enfranchised Steelers fans who were expecting the Ratbirds to blow us out (including myself): One Week – Barenaked Ladies.
