(By NAS204PSU):
Live from Delaware, it’s Saturday Night! I, NAS204PSU, am here at BTSC to bring you this Saturday Night Open Thread (aka SNOT).
It’s been an interesting season with Aaron at the helm, and it’s probably going to a wild ride.
Not this week, since it’s the bye week with no Steeler football tomorrow. On the plus side, we can’t lose. The downside is there’s another week till we see them play again. We’ll have to settle for rooting against the other AFC North teams or rooting for our fantasy football players. Either way, I’m sure your cardiologist would say it’s a good thing for your blood pressure.
This 6 pack of questions is here to get the conversation going, so let us know what you’re eating/drinking!
- Kenny Gainwell went for 99 yards and two tuddys last week in the win over Vikings. Who do you credit for the run game success:
- Kenny!
- Steelers OL
- Artie Smith
- Vikings DL poor performance/injuries
- Other – explain in comments
- The Steelers defense held Minnesota to 6 pts till the 4th quarter, though a few timely INTs were needed for this result. Behind 24-6, the Vikings then scored 14 unanswered 4th quarter points. Did the defense take the foot off the gas too much or is this strategy OK with a big lead relying on running out the clock?
- We’re 3-1 at the bye week, which is the 9th time we’ve been 3-1 or better in the Mike Tomlin era. We’ve made the playoffs each of those years under MT, so are you buying the Steelers making the playoffs in 2025? Why or why not?
- The Ravens are 1-3 and will be without Lamar Jacksons this weekend vs the Texans (and possibly longer). The Bengals are 2-2 and may not get Joe Burrow back till late in the season. Between these two AFC North rivals, who do you predict will have the more disappointing season: Ratbirds or Bungles? Tell us your end of season predictions.
- Daniel Jones has the highest QBR 79.1 and is 3rd in yards. Travis Ettienne Jr has the highest yds/att for a featured running back with 6.1 average (NOTE excludes WR/QB/RBs with few attempts that can skew the data).
Which is more surprising to you: Danny Dimes leading the QBR or Travis ETN having the highest yds/att ?
- What is your favorite thing to splurge on/buy?
