The 2024 NFL season served as a reminder to everyone in the football world that Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is a truly generational talent. While that phrase gets thrown around often, it is undeniably true of Barkley, a former No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft.
In his first season with a competent offensive line, Barkley absolutely exploded. He rushed for career-highs in yards (2,005) and touchdowns (13) and very well may haven broken Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record if Philadelphia did not rest him in Week 18 against the New York Giants.
For his efforts, Barkley was named the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year, was voted first-team All-Pro and finished third in the league’s MVP voting. Now he heads into the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs as Philadelphia’s focal point on offense. But before he does so, his daughter Jada had a heart-wrenching message for her father.
“I really, really, really hope you win,” Jada said in a voicemail recorded by The Players Tribune. “And daddy I’m really thankful that you’ve been caring for your whole family and I know you’re going to win, but if you don’t, that is OK! I’ll always, always love you and SJ will always love you, and Mommy would always love you and your mother and father would always love you. Our whole family would always love you no matter what you do.”

Barkley’s daughter, who turns seven in April, came to forefront this past summer when he revealed that she asked him “Does that mean we’re going to win now?” after signing with Philadelphia. She’s the eldest of Barkley’s two children with fiancee and college sweetheart Anna Congdon.
Obviously, Barkley and the Eagles would love to win on Sunday. But it’s clear that regardless of the result, the Philadelphia superstar has plenty going for him these days.
