The internet is full of countless examples of Philadelphia Eagles superstar running back Saquon Barkley being an extraordinary teammate, dating back to his days at Penn State. But the latest example of Barkley looking out for those who help him succeed may well be the best one yet.

Following the Eagles’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, Barkley was invited to be a guest on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon. Barkley accepted. But he had one condition. Barkley told the show that he would only do the show if his offensive lineman were included. Not only that, but Barkley insisted that his offensive lineman were feature in the segments he was involved in.

Saquon Barkley Shotguns Beers With Offensive Linemen On ‘The Tonight Show’

The result was a remarkable segment where Barkley shotgunned beers alongside his entire offensive line as well as Fallon. The most impressive part? Barkley shotgunned his faster than each of his much, much larger teammates.

It’s hard argue the Eagles offensive line, which was the best in the league, propelled Barkley to superstardom. While he made a pair of Pro Bowl appearances with the New York Giants, he did so behind some of the league’s worst offensive lines. This year, he ran through highway-sized holes, which propelled him to a 2,000-yard season.

“It’s a little easier this year when you’ve got those big guys up front creating the holes they’ve been creating,” Barkley said before the Super Bowl. “That’s part of it. The o-line’s job is to block the guys they have, and I’m responsible for one, and when I get there I have the responsibility to make the guy miss.”

With four of the five starters under contract for 2025 and beyond, it’s hard to imagine Philly, or Barkley, slowing down much next season.
