The Philadelphia Eagles didn’t beat around the bush in the offseason.
They wanted to bolster their running game, so they made Saquon Barkley a Godfather-like offer to pry him away from the Giants.
That move wound up being one of the most impactful in recent NFL history.
Likewise, Barkley has been able to cash in on even more money after wreaking havoc all year long.
As ESPN insider Adam Schefter points out, the Penn State product has already earned $3 million in incentives this season.
A win in the Super Bowl would trigger an additional $250,000 and allow him to make an extra $500,000 this postseason in playoff victory incentives.

When healthy, Barkley has always been one of the best and most impactful offensive players in the league.
Even playing behind an ever-struggling offensive line like the New York Giants, he still constantly found ways to keep the chains in motion for his team.
The Giants chose Daniel Jones over him, leaving the door wide open for a divisional rival, of all teams, to get him.
Barkley responded to his first season playing behind a good offensive line by almost setting a new mark for rushing yards in the regular season.
He had an MVP-caliber season and will now pose the biggest challenge to Steve Spagnulo’s defense this season.
That’s why you never let your best player hit free agency, and even if the Eagles lose in the Super Bowl again, Barkley has already been worth every single penny they’ve paid him and will pay him in the future.
