San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Demarcus Robinson has received a final sentence, eight months after his arrest for driving under the influence.
Just after 5:00 a.m. on Nov. 25, officers arrested Demarcus Robinson for driving under the influence in Los Angeles, California. Oddly, the arrest happened just hours after the Rams fell 37-20 at home to the Philadelphia Eagles on “Sunday Night Football.”
According to TMZ Sports, Robinson has reached a deal with prosecutors to avoid jail time. As part of the agreement, The veteran wide receiver pleaded “nolo contendere” to a DUI misdemeanor charge and was sentenced to 36 months of probation.
Additionally, Robinson has to pay a $390 fine and attend counseling programs.
Unfortunately, Demarcus Robinson isn’t the only NFL player recently arrested for driving under the influence. Last summer Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested for drunk driving near the Los Angeles International Airport. His trial date has been set for July 15.
Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Ben Cleveland was arrested on drunk driving charges in Milledgeville, Georgia, on Feb. 12. Cleveland pleaded not guilty and had his trial date set for July 15 as well.
The 30-year-old Demarcus Robinson signed with the 49ers in free agency after two seasons with the Rams. A fourth-round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016, Robinson won a Super Bowl ring with Patrick Mahomes and company in the 2019 season.
Over his first nine NFL seasons, Robinson has 250 receptions for 3,013 yards and 27 touchdowns. Robinson played one season (2022) for the Baltimore Ravens before joining the Rams in 2023.
Robinson and the new-look 49ers will kick off their 2025 season against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field on Sept. 7. The clubs split the 2024 season series, with the road team winning each meeting.
