San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir’s career is in jeopardy after he was arrested in Los Angeles on Thursday.
TMZ Sports first reported the shocking news that he was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department at around 5:30 PM and was booked for resisting a peace officer a few hours later.
Law enforcement told TMZ cops approached Lenoir and a man named Marcus Cunningham when they observed vehicles double-parked and blocking traffic. That would lead to a dangerous situation.

Cops suspected criminal activity and promptly noticed a gun in Cunningham’s car.
During the incident, Cunningham threw Lenoir his car keys, but once cops asked the defensive back to hand them over, he refused. He was arrested on one count of resisting a peace officer.
Deommodore Lenoir was released on Friday morning and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
Cunningham was also arrested for possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle.
Deommodore Lenoir is a huge part of the 49ers. They just rewarded him with a new five-year, $92 million extension last season.
The 49ers selected Deommodore Lenoir in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and years later, the pick is still being praised.
The 49ers have an incredible track record of finding diamonds in the rough. That’s when they drafted George Kittle in 2017, Dre Greenlaw in 2019, and Deommodore Lenoir in 2021.
Lenoir was so good that he became a starter after his selection.
Lenoir steadily improved his game despite being the second cornerback that the team drafted that year.
Not only is Lenoir a late-round gem, but he’s the best cornerback the 49ers have drafted since Eric Davis in 1990.
Bleacher Report recently named Lenoir one of the biggest steals of the 2021 NFL Draft.
“Lenoir started two games in his rookie season and has started in 45 of his 49 games since,” writes Bleacher Report’s Damian Parson. “His versatility allows the Niners’ defense to match up well against different offensive personnel groupings.
Deommodore Lenoir is coming off his best year, having allowed 470 yards on 48 receptions with one touchdown and two interceptions. He added nine pass breakups as well.
