The San Francisco 49ers are making some notable moves this week.
A former Detroit Lions running back and Steelers wideout are headed to the Bay Area.
Ameer Abdullah, whom the Lions drafted in the second round of the 2015 draft, has signed with the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday after a successful workout.
Andy Isabella, who the Arizona Cardinals selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft, is also signing with the team.

Abdullah spent 2.5 years with the Lions, another 2.5 with the Minnesota Vikings, one with the Carolina Panthers, and three with the Las Vegas Raiders. In his 10 professional seasons, he’s rushed for 1,994 yards and eight touchdowns while hauling in 203 passes for another 1,468 yards and 11 scores.
Isabella has a total of 33 catches for 447 yards and three touchdowns in his career.
These might not be two sexy pickups for the San Francisco 9ers, but they can certainly work out in the long run for the team going forward.
With training camps underway, it’s officially time to get to predictions for the 2025 NFL season.
The 49ers are using last season’s disappointing 6-11 finish as motivation heading into the 2025 NFL season.
The franchise is determined to prove that 2024 was an anomaly rather than the start of a decline.
The 49ers have made several significant moves in the 2025 offseason, including trading WR Deebo Samuel to the Commanders, signing QB Mac Jones, and adding various free agents.
