Canal Street Chronicles
This week, the New Orleans Saints return home to Caesars Superdome to face the Carolina Panthers in Week 15 of the 2025 NFL season. The player to watch for this matchup will have some big shoes to fill as offensive tackles Taliese Fuaga and Asim Richards are both dealing with ankle injuries: OT William Sherman.
While filling in for Taliese Fuaga as he deals with an ankle injury, backup OT Asim Richards—who the Saints traded for with the Dallas Cowboys in late August—left Sunday’s game early after suffering an ankle injury of his own, later diagnosed as a high ankle sprain which could cause him to miss some time.
In the wake of his injury, William Sherman—who was recently promoted to the Saints’ 53-man roster—filled in for Richards at right tackle. The 26-year-old saw 18 total snaps (10 run block, eight pass block), allowing one pressure while earning a 48.5 overall grade (52.6 RBK, 33.7 PBK) from Pro Football Focus.
Saints HC Kellen Moore shared encouraging feedback about Sherman, and if Fuaga still isn’t ready to return, Sherman would likely get the nod at RT against Carolina.
