The New Orleans Saints have signed CFL standout WR Damien Alford to a reserve/futures contract on Tuesday afternoon, per reports.

The six-foot-six, 224-pound wideout spent four seasons at Syracuse from 2020 to 2023, hauling in 67 receptions for 1,291 yards (19.3 per catch) and seven touchdowns. In his final season with the Orange, he posted a career-high 33 receptions for 610 yards and three touchdowns before transferring to Utah in 2024, where he appeared in just four games for the Utes without recording a reception.

Still just 24 years old, Alford was the first pick in the 2025 CFL draft by the Calgary Stampeders. He totaled 20 receptions on 34 targets for 407 yards (20.4 YPC) and five touchdowns in 15 games. Alford also brings speed to the table, running a 4.46-second 40-yard dash at the 2025 Big 12 Pro Day, and has shown above-average concentration on 50/50 balls throughout his career.

Alford adds competition to the receiver room and has a chance to pursue his NFL dreams with a strong offseason program.
