The Eagles QB coach is set to meet with the team early this week.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the New Orleans Saints are set to interview Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier for their open spot at offensive coordinator.
This is the second different OC candidate that the Saints have requested to interview.
This move is not surprising. Ever since his days in Dallas, Nussmeier has followed Moore around, first to L.A., then to Philly.
His coaching experience is mostly college ball, but he has been coaching in the NFL since 2020, where he was the Dallas Cowboys tight ends coach. Nussmeier is also a former Saints QB, drafted in the fourth round of the 1994 NFL draft, and was with the team until 1997. Out of the league by 2000, he would spend one year with the B.C. Lions. In ‘01, he would become the QB coach in British Columbia.
Nussmeier’s career accolades include a win in the Grey Cup, BCS National Championship, and the Super Bowl. His son, Garrett, is currently the starting QB for LSU.
