Let’s start the breakdown for the New Orleans Saints’ Sunday matchup against the New York Jets!
For most of the season, Banks has been extremely talented, and against the Panthers, it continued, though there were some hiccups. Penalties remain an issue, and the rookie was beaten at times. Still, he had dominant reps. In week 16, against the Jets, he can dominate all day.
After the Saints’ Week 15 win over Carolina, Shough showed he will be the starter for at least 2026, can lead this team to wins, elevate the offense, and make clutch plays. This is a franchise-level QB, and with how bad the Jets’ defense has been, it could be a very fun day for the rookie.
Last week, I really thought Sanker was going to make a game-changing play, but that really didn’t happen due to the Panthers’ QB Bryce Young playing really well. Still, when Sanker did make plays, he was much more consistent, and those little tackling issues seemed to disappear on Sunday. Once again, I’m going to say this is a game where Sanker can make a massive play, but more of his focus for the week should be on dealing with Jets RB Breece Hall, who has a homerun threat on every play.
Riley also did not get that turnover against the Panthers, but he did make a game-changing play. At the end of the half, the Panthers had a chance for a highly crucial touchdown in hindsight. Instead, Riley got his hand in the way and dislodged the ball away from rookie WR Tetairoa McMillan.
For Week 16, Riley is going to have opportunities to get turnovers, with rookie QB Brady Cook already having 5 interceptions in two starts.
Neal is out for Week 16.
