In a move that is not so surprising, the New Orleans Saints have released kicker Blake Grupe, who has struggled tremendously this season, missing a total of eight kicks through 11 games including two on Sunday afternoon against the Atlanta Falcons.

The 27-year-old was signed by Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2023, beating out veteran kicker Wil Lutz for the starting position.

In a corresponding move, the Saints are signing former LSU Tigers kicker Cade York, per a report by Nick Underhill. York was most recently with the Cincinnati Bengals. He will join kicker Charlie Smyth, who was signed through the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program (IPPP) in 2024, on the Saints practice squad.
