The Baton Rouge native inks a deal to return to the Big Easy.
The New Orleans Saints and former LSU star RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire have agreed to terms on a one-year deal after he finished the 2024 season with the team. In two games, CEH recorded 46 yards and two first downs on 13 attempts, averaging 4.2 yards per carry.
In 50 career games, the former Kansas City Chiefs first-round pick and two-time Super Bowl champion has recorded 1,891 rushing yards on 454 carries (4.2 AYPC), along with 789 receiving yards on 92 receptions and 19 total touchdowns.
With New Orleans needing backfield depth behind Alvin Kamara and Edwards-Helaire calling it a dream come true to rep the black and gold, this move makes sense from both a personnel and culture standpoint. I still expect the Saints to add an explosive ball carrier in the upcoming NFL Draft, which is absolutely loaded with talent at the position. Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty, North Carolina’s Omarion Hampton, and Arizona State’s Cam Skattebo are among the many intriguing prospects in the 2025 running back class.
