New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was brought out to throw the first pitch for the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals game on Saturday afternoon.
With all due respect to the Pro Bowl running back, the delivery was not what you’d expect from a professional athlete. Of course, Alvin Kamara isn’t the first notable celebrity to throw a terrible ceremonial first pitch at a Major League Baseball game.
But what made this instance of a terrible first pitch so hilarious? Kamara was so disappointed with his delivery on the mound that he asked for a do-over. Clark, the Cubs’ official team mascot, was happy to oblige.
And the second one went, well, much better than the first:

Hey, the second first pitch was a lot better than the one thrown by FanDuel TV sportscaster Kay Adams three days earlier:

The Cubs won the first game of their three-game set 11-3 on Friday. They’ll conclude the series at Wrigley Field tomorrow at 6:10 p.m. EST.
Kamara and the Saints will kick off the 2025 season with a home tilt against Kyler Murray’s Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 7. (1:00 p.m. EST). The Saints are a trendy pick to finish as football’s worst team in 2025, having lost starting quarterback Derek Carr to retirement.
With sophomore Spencer Rattler and rookie Tyler Shough headlining the Saints’ QB depth chart, there’s a lot of uncertainty behind center. So expect the Saints to lean a lot more on Kamara, who’s been a model of consistency at RB over his first eight NFL seasons.
