Who is leaving New Orleans and where is their next stop?

New Orleans Saints Director of Rehabilitation Jonathan Gress is on his way out of the city, and headed for a new position with the University of Oklahoma, per George Stoia III.

Gress, a Norman, Oklahoma native, has had a long-standing history with the NFL. In 2014, he was hired on as a physical therapist and assistant to the athletic trainer with the Miami Dolphins. After serving in that role for four years, he joined the Saints as an assistant trainer in 2018. Just a year later, Gress was promoted to director of rehabilitation for New Orleans, a role he had held ever since.

Prior to working in the league, Jonathan studied at both Texas Tech University and OU. His decision to join Oklahoma will be a warm homecoming for him and the Sooners.

The team saw clear value and have a mission for the future of their program and have thus hired Gress as the new head football trainer. At this time, there are no clear indicators as to how the Saints will shift the training staff to fill this void.
