Tonight’s event is dedicated to raising awareness and support for the fight against human trafficking.
New Orleans Saints LB Demario Davis, his wife, Tamela Davis and two-time Grammy-winning artist Lauren Daigle are uniting to host Super Bowl LIX Night of Freedom, an exclusive private event on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, dedicated to raising awareness and support for the fight against human trafficking.
Human trafficking is a global crisis that is often overlooked. Opportunities like this event create a space for people to learn about this critical issue and also learn there is a hopeful and proven solution by strengthening justice systems to enforce anti-trafficking laws.
This event will benefit the International Justice Mission (IJM) and local anti-trafficking organizations through Daigle’s The Price Fund which supports local and international anti-trafficking efforts. IJM partners with local authorities to combat slavery, violence against women and children, and other forms of abuse against women, children and men living in poverty.
Demario and Tamela Davis, Founders of the Devoted Dreamers Foundation are sponsoring the event.
I had the opportunity to speak with Demario and Tamela Davis about tonight's event and the importance of spreading awareness to such an important cause.
Demario Davis: This is an incredible time to highlight the work of IMJ and also with Lauren Daigle coming to perform for the Super Bowl so anytime you can get a Grammy winning artist, a pro player and a community involved event to really highlight a specific issue that doesn’t always get the proper coverage... what an incredible opportunity. To be able to have a night that’s intimate, that has beautiful music and worship in the atmosphere... To be able to have high profile people coming in for the Super Bowl and be in the room and really talk and emphasize and bring to light something that can sometimes be glossed over, I think is just an amazing opportunity and we were all on board for it.
Tamela Davis: IMJ is an international organization that really combats human trafficking, and violence and is currently operating in 13 field offices in 19 countries around the worlds, which is something that is extremely rare. One of the facts that I just really think about knowing that we are having the Super Bowl here in New Orleans and in the Superdome is that they have literally relieved over 90,000 victims, and that’s more than the Superdome actually holds. So, when you look at the work that they are doing that's so incredible and remarkable, you see that amount of the people that the Superdome literally holds they have recused. They are doing a lot of work to protect those who are vulnerable and really rescue people from situations like trafficking.
Demario Davis: They’re one of top organizations that really combats human trafficking, which is an issue that is not really talked about. They rescue victims, restore survivors and work to strength the justice system.
