The NFL announced on Tuesday that New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis has been named one of the eight finalists for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes those that demonstrate the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition.
The eight finalists consist of four players from each conference. In addition to Davis, Budda Baker (Arizona) Lavonte David (Tampa Bay), and Brian O’Neill (Minnesota) have been selected as finalists from the NFC.
In the AFC, DeForest Buckner (Indianapolis), Harrison Phillips (New York Jets), Zach Sieler (Miami), and Kyle Van Noy (Baltimore) have been nominated.
The finalists are listed on the ballet for the Pro Bowl, which players vote on. The winner of the 2025 Art Rooney Sportsmanship will be announced on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the NFL Honors Ceremony during Super Bowl week.
Davis was also chosen as the Saints’ nominee for this year’s Walter Payton Man of the Year award, in recognition of his outstanding off-the-field contributions and steadfast commitment to making impact on the community. That 2025 Walter Payton Man of the Year will also be announced during the NFL Honors in February.
