New Orleans’ all-time sack leader thinks players should be allowed to celebrate.
New Orleans Saints DE Cam Jordan has had a lot to celebrate throughout his soon to be 15-year career in the NFL. The 8-time Pro-Bowler has racked up 716 total tackles and 121.5 sacks since being selected by the Saints in 1st round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
While attending Fanatics Fest 2025 in NYC this weekend, Jordan was asked what he thought is the dumbest rule in the NFL today?
Jordan hilariously responded, “For the fans, I think it’s the excessive celebration. Like, boy, if you don’t let them celebrate. Please. They scored a touchdown, they dragged three defenders on their back. Let them. I get a sack off a quarterback, give me five seconds. Like in fact, put the spotlight on me. I’m gonna hit the levels, I’m gonna hit one of these, in fact, I’m gonna kick him while he’s down and I’m gonna go about my way. But like, let us celebrate. It’s ok to taunt. Like bring back taunting. Let me talk my s---.”
The NFL tightened up the rules on player celebrations back in 2017, which now includes a player getting penalized for taunting an opponent. So, it may be a while before the league loosens the reins, but it sounds like the Saints’ all-time sack leader would like to be able to have some more fun on the field.
