This is New Orleans’ first in-person interview this week.

Anthony Weaver, the Miami Dolphins' defensive coordinator, was interviewed in person by the New Orleans Saints on Friday. This was the Saints first in-person interview of the head coaching cycle.

Weaver, 44, has only been with the Dolphins for one year; however, he has a total of 13 years of NFL coaching experience. He also spent seven seasons in the NFL as a defensive end (four in Baltimore and three in Houston).

Players describe Weaver as a passionate coach who cares for his players.

“You wanna go out and play for him; you wanna go out there and play well and perform and do the things he’s asking because he’s been there before,” safety Javon Holland said on The Pivot Podcast. “He understands how to speak to the team and the defense, and he understands where our mindset is.”
