Erik McCoy will be the only Saints representative at the Pro Bowl Games.
When the 2025 Pro Bowl Games rosters were announced back in early January, the New Orleans Saints didn’t have a single player make it to Orlando. No Alvin Kamara, no Demario Davis, no anybody, which wasn’t all that surprising when you consider how poorly the team played this season.
However, when the Philadelphia Eagles made the Super Bowl, their Pro Bowl center, Cam Jurgens, had to be replaced. Finally, the Saints got their first, and only, Pro Bowler of the year when Erik McCoy was named as Jurgens replacement. This is McCoy’s second career Pro Bowl nod, and he becomes the first Saints center to ever be elected to the Pro Bowl multiple times.
McCoy was the catalyst for the Saints offensive success in the first two weeks of the season. He earned a 91.4 offensive grade in their win over Carolina and a 92.2 grade in their win over the Cowboys. Unfortunately, McCoy was injured in week three and missed an extended period of time, but he went back to playing really good football when he returned.
He played four games from Week 11 through Week 16 and allowed just two pressures and no sacks. He also earned a 72+ run blocking grade in each of those games, including a 91.1 against Washington. McCoy would suffer another injury in their loss to Green Bay and miss the rest of the season, but he did enough to be the Pro Bowl alternate.
Out of everyone on the team, McCoy deserves this honor the most. He was the Saints best offensive player when he was on the field, but he just couldn’t stay healthy this year. Hopefully he can stay on the field in 2025 and help the Saints offensive line perform better than it did this season.
