New Orleans new coaching staff is full of youth.

New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore has been actively assembling his coaching staff since his hire.

Since then, the Saints have added Scott Tolzien, 37, as quarterbacks coach, Philadelphia Eagles run game coordinator T.J. Paganetti, 35, whose new role is currently unknown, Chase Haslett, 32, as their tight ends coach, and Brendan Nugent, 41, as offensive line coach. With former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley, 42, being the favorite at defensive coordinator, it is clear the Saints are looking to assemble a youthful coaching staff.

While New Orleans is adding youth to their staff, there is plenty of experience between these young coaches. Moore has six years of offensive coordinator experience, Paganetti began coaching in 2013, and Staley has been coaching in the NFL since 2017.

The Saints' new coaching staff isn't exclusive to the under-50 club however with the reunion of running backs coach Joel Thomas, 50, wide receivers coach Keith Williams, 53, and the current favorite for offensive coordinator Doug Nussemeier, 54.

The Saints have been stuck playing an older style of football since the retirement of legendary quarterback Drew Brees and the departure of head coach Sean Payton. While the offense worked under those two all-time greats, the team’s failure to adapt to the new style of offense has kept them out of the playoffs since. The Saints did see a sneak peek of this style of offense under former offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, but now having an offensive-minded head coach and his young staff, the offense in New Orleans is sure to take a more exciting and electric approach.
